Wegovy® the brand name for Semaglutide, a type of medication called GLP-1s. GLP-1s are a class of medical treatments for weight loss and diabetes. They mimic the GLP-1 hormone that is naturally released in the gastrointestinal tract in response to eating.

The active ingredient in Wegovy®, Semaglutide has been linked to deliver:

• Less hunger
• Fewer food cravings
• Better control of eating 
• Reduced preference for high-fat foods

All this can lead to eating fewer calories and as a result, significant weight loss.

A 2021 study conducted with almost 2,000 adults without diabetes, showed that after 68 weeks, participants taking a weekly Semaglutide injection lost an average of almost 15% of their body weight. This was alongside some lifestyle changes, like improving their diet and getting regular physical activity. ^[1]

• GLP-1 medications work by mimicking a naturally occurring hormone, GLP-1, which plays a key role in regulating insulin production, glucose metabolism, and overall appetite.
• Slows digestion - by reducing blood sugar levels and slowing the emptying of your stomach, so you feel full more quickly and for longer.
• Suppress hunger signals - by influencing the brain’s appetite center, it helps control hunger signals, giving you better control over cravings.

This medication can help promote healthier weight management while also supporting better blood sugar control.

It comes in the form of a pen that is injected under the skin once a week, starting from a low dose of 0.25 mg. After 4 weeks, the dose is gradually increased to 0.5 mg once weekly. The weekly dosage may be gradually increased again to 1 mg, up to a maximum dose of 1.7mg or 2.4mg. Inject your dose under the skin (subcutaneously) in your stomach area (abdomen), thigh, or upper arm, using a different injection site each week when injecting in the same body region. After one month, throw the pen away and replace it with another pen for the following month’s treatment.

Each box contains 1 pen and 4 sterile syringes. Each pen lasts for 1 month.
